Department of Ultrasound Medicine, Shanghai YiDa Hospital is a modern medical imaging discipline integrating ultrasound diagnosis and treatment. The director of the department is led by Dr. Lei Kairong (chief physician, professor), deputy director of the Institute of Ultrasound Medicine of Tongji University. The department has professionally competent skilled staffs, superb technology, and unity and progress. There are 26 staff members, including 1 chief physician, 3 deputy chief physicians, 6 attending physicians, and 11 resident physicians. Under the leadership of the head of the department, Director Lei Kairong, the Ultrasound Medicine Department has continuously improved and enriched abdominal ultrasound, superficial musculoskeletal extravascular ultrasound, echocardiography, obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound, and interventional ultrasound, as well as the connotation of clinical teaching, and scientific research.

Currently, the Department of Ultrasound Medicine has outpatient ultrasound room, inpatient ultrasound room, echocardiography room, Interventional ultrasound clinic and physical examination center ultrasound room, a total of 27 ultrasound rooms. Equipped with more than 20 high-performance color Doppler diagnostic instruments such as GE-E95, Voluson E10, Logiq E9, etc., it can meet the clinical needs of ultrasound diagnosis and treatment of various parts of our body.

We have also established "National Continuing Medical Education Gastrointestinal Ultrasound Technology Standardized Training Base" and "Shanghai Social Medical Institutions Association Ultrasound Medicine Branch's First Ultrasound Practical Technology Teaching and Training Base" and "National Pelvic Floor Ultrasound Training Base" awarded by the National Health Commission's Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center and the China National Health Association. Our department has held many large-scale ultrasound academic conferences and gastrointestinal ultrasound, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and pelvic floor ultrasound "hands-on teaching" training courses, and is committed to the promotion and application of practical ultrasound technology in China. It has received and trained more than 100 advanced physicians from all over the country; participated in the compilation of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" graduate textbook "Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Diagnosis" of the National Health and Family Planning Commission for Ultrasound Medicine Majors in Colleges and Universities; participated in the discussion and wrote 7 Chinese Ultrasound Expert Consensus and Guidelines. Won 1 national continuing medical education project and 2 Shanghai continuing medical education projects. Our director Dr. Lei Kairong, concurrently holds academic positions in multiple national and Shanghai societies.
