Department Introduction
Led by Director Tian Jiwei, a renowned orthopedic expert, professor, and doctoral supervisor, the Orthopedic Department of Shanghai Yida Hospital is a key development department. It has a medical team with rich clinical, teaching and research experience. The department has several sub-specialties, such as sports medicine and joint surgery, spinal surgery, trauma orthopedics, and hand and foot microsurgery. With 138 beds, it serves as a demonstration ward for perioperative blood and pain management in the accelerated recovery of orthopedic surgeries.

Specialized Projects
Spine-related:As a leading team in the field of spinal surgery industry, we have launched a new specialized project - "Personalized Total Spine Integrated Therapy", focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of spinal trauma, degenerative diseases, tumors and infections, such as spinal cord trauma, cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis, etc. We also carry out various minimally invasive techniques, such as percutaneous kyphoplasty for thoracolumbar fractures, transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (TED), etc. Especially, Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (UBE) Minimally Invasive Surgery, low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation, percutaneous kyphoplasty, etc. represent the department's characteristic techniques, which are at an advanced level in this region.

Sports Joint-related:Artificial joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery, sports injury repair, osteoporosis treatment, etc. At the same time, we also carry out osteoporosis prevention work and provide comprehensive bone health management plans for patients.
Trauma Orthopedics:It focuses on various joint trauma-related diseases, especially in the treatment of severe traumas; meanwhile, it emphasizes multidisciplinary cooperation to jointly formulate treatment and rehabilitation plans, ensuring patients receive the best treatment and rehabilitation.
l Hand and Foot Microsurgery:
It is dedicated to providing the highest level of medical services through advanced medical technologies and meticulous surgical techniques. It is skilled in treating various complex traumas, nerve injuries, deformities and infections. Specific treatments include microsurgical repair of limb tendons, peripheral nerves, blood vessels, etc.; hand function reconstruction and repair; nerve and tendon release; repair with free skin flaps and myocutaneous flaps for soft tissue defects; and treatment of hallux valgus.
